We have currently purchase Articulate for the business to support our learning and development team. However just need some advice regarding Screen Readers for Viewing Content.
Having looked at your Combined System Requirements article and having looked at the compatible screen readers listed, it doesn't list the ScreenReader we currently use.
Therefore can I ask if the articulate 360 Suite and anything we produce be compatible with Zoomtext 2019 and 2020?
Hi Alex, we use NVDA and JAWS and these both work well with Storyline content. I would recommend running some tests with Zoomtext and published Storyline content.
Provided there aren't huge differences between the screen readers, I think you will be OK.
Zoomtext is built by the same company as JAWS, which is the officially supported screen reader. It should work with 360-suite output, but as Sam mentioned above I would run some tests to be sure.
Our accessibility team did not manage to get the ZoomText working at all. Can we submit a feature request? ZoomText seems to be critical for low-vision users and a great feature in general.
Thanks for taking the time to review ZoomText, and I appreciate you sharing your experience through the Feature Request form as well!
Right now, we support these screen readers for viewing content:
Our accessibility journey isn't over, so I'll circle back with any new developments in this area!
For now, have you had a chance to check out modern player zoom? It allows learners to take control of how the content scales in desktop browsers so they can zoom in as much as they want. Tour this feature here!
Wanted to check back in on this, specifically since it's not just a screen reader but also allows learners to resize the screen elements to make them easier to read.
Thank you for checking back in. We have not updated our list of supported screen readers to include ZoomText, but we shared the feature request with our team.
As Katie mentioned above, we added the modern player zoom to fill the gap in our accessibility zoom requirements.
Just wondering if there has been any update on this? A lot of our visually impaired audience are unable to go through the modules we've created because they use Zoomtext.
We have recommended the Zoom to fit option to this audience, but the feedback we have received is that it feels "clunky".
We haven't made any changes to officially support ZoomText since we do have the Zoom to Fit option in the Modern Player. I appreciate your audience's feedback and will be sure to share this with my team. We'll let you know if our team looks into officially supporting Zoomtext.
