Accessible lightbox slide

Hello. When testing my course with a screen reader (NVDA)I cannot get the items on my lightbox slide to be recognized by the screen reader. I can navigate to the close button, but anything on the slide is ignored.
I am testing in my LMS (Moodle). I have checked the focus order.
Not sure if I have missed a step or if it is my not being too good at keyboard navigation/using a screen reader. Or if I should not use lightboxes - from an accessibility standpoint.
I have attached a demo file that mimics what I am doing in my course.
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks,
Adena

Hello Adena!
When the lightbox appears, you'll need to activate the dialogue box. Can you try pressing the space bar as soon as the lightbox appears? After that, use the down arrow key to move through the text.
Please let me know how that works for you!
Hi Lauren,
Yes! Looks like it was my inexperience with keyboard navigation. I appreciate the information. Do you happen to know if that is a given (knowing to press the spacebar) or if I need to add instructions?
Thank you kindly.
That is standard when a dialogue box appears but I think it's worth adding instruction if it feels necessary!
