Adobe Flash Builder (Action Script only SWF) does not appear in Storyline Preview or Published file

Oct 27, 2015

Very strange issue here.  I can add the .swf file on an empty slide and it shows up in the slide builder.  When it's previewed or published, it doesn't show up.  If I add another object (e.g. a shape or image), it works (although it doesn't scale correctly sometimes).

It happens on both Storyline 1 and 2.  The .swf file is created in Flash Builder as a Flash Pro file (.fla), however it doesn't have anything on the stage - all content is added with code.  If I add any sprites or movieclips to the stage, they show up, but the interactive bits added in code, still don't show.

Has anyone ever seen this and know of a solution.

Thanks,

Don

Thanks for the response Leslie.  I went and looked at the guidelines, made two versions of the file that worked perfectly outside of Storyline.  The one thing I changed was the Flash Player Version.  It's quite sad that Storyline only supports Flash Player Version 10 or lower - Adobe's currently on Version 18!

Using Flash Professional CS6, I created a Flash Player Version 10.3 and Version 9 of the .swf file.  Both of them showed the same result in Storyline, visible in the slide builder, but when previewed or published, they don't show up at all.

Is there anyone I could send the files to at Articulate to try and resolve this issue? Are there any plans to allow support for newer versions of the flash player?  I'm quite frustrated.

Thanks.
