All slide layers showing in editor

I have a slide with multiple layers in storyline. In the editor, all the objects from every layer are showing in every other layer, including the base layer.
The slide layers look great and perform well in preview mode, but it's challenging to edit them when there are layers of objects obscuring everything.
I have other slides with layers within the same project that are displaying properly in the editor, so I'm not sure what is different about this slide.

Hi Kim,
One simple thing you can do is to click on the "eye" icon next to each layer to turn it off. If you turn them all off, only the selected layer will show whilst you are editing. Just remember to turn them all back on again when you have finished.
You can also selectively turn them on and off if you are trying to line something up on the layer you are editing with something on another layer.
Hi Kim,
Further to my last post, it isn't actually essential to turn them back on again as your slide will still work correctly anyway. Similarly to the Dim option in the slide layers dialogue box, these icons are there just to assist with editing, for the very reason you raised in your initial query.
Thank you so much, Ned! Very helpful.
