am I on target?

Sep 04, 2014

I have taken it upon myself to create an interactive demo of an assembly and repair processfor a particular piece of machinery in the factory where I am part of the training department. I think I would basically follow the process outlined in the demo video that articulate put out a few weeks back, but I could be wrong.  Am I heading in the right direction?

Obviously, the number of pieces would be different, but I think the requirements would be the same.

Question number two. I have attached the simplistic sample demo How do I get the four smaller parts to lock into position on the larger piece in the right area? Right now, you can drop them anywhere on the picture and it considers it a good fit.  Is there a way to designate which section of the larger part that the smaller parts must be dropped onto?

Hello Tim,

What you can do is create a new shape, with no fill or outline, and set those up as the correct landing spot. Attached is your file with one added shape, for the air tube, for reference. You just change the drop location to the new shape under the Edit Drag and Drop.

Also, you can make these items snap back to their original spot if dropped outside of the correct landing spot, just in case you wanted that option.

Hope this helps!
