Is there a way to animate visual elements in Storyline in the way one can in Flash? For example, a timeline based animation where, say, a see-saw graphic rocks back and forth? Or are we limited to the transition types of animations like fade in, wipe, etc.?
In addition to transitions, you can use motion paths to animate objects, but they are fairly restricted in terms of animating rotations and sizes. It's no where near as sophisticated as Flash for animations unfortunately.
Could you create the animation in Flash/Animate and import it as a web object or just as a flash animation for your project?
I'd look at using the web object or flash animation element, or another video file to have that animation appear on the screen. You may also want to take note that if you include a Flash animation it won't be accessible to folks in the HTML5 output.
Is it possible to animate the rotation of an object? Luke, I see your note saying Storyline is limited when dealing with animating rotations... does that mean it's not possible?
You could animate the change between states, but showing the rotation itself, you'd have to use an existing animation to show that, and I'm not sure which one would suit your needs.
