appending a variable to the report.html output in SL 360

Hi! I've been doing a lot of investigation into how to edit the report.html file that is displayed when you "print" a results slide.

I've seen how some people have customized the CSS, etc. and how some people have used other .html files to create certificates, etc.

I, on the other hand, actually like the content (not the style) of report.html as it is. BUT... I need to append the answer(s) to some of the open-ended questions my learners answer so they can review the material and make notes as they prepare for an in-person discussion.

Any idea of how I can do this? I have stored their answer(s) in text variables, but I'm having a difficult time getting those variables to populate at the end of the report.html file after all of the standard questions/answers, etc.
