Applying Layouts to PPT

I have created PPT slides with the title and content created using layout on PPT master. I import these into Storyline.  I try to apply a Storyline layout to change the title appearance. This does not work:

In PPT, the title is centered black text on a white background in Calibri 32. The title area does not touch the top or sides.

In the Storyline layout, the title has a dark blue background with yellow text in Open Sans 20 left centered. It is a smaller area and touches the top and sides

When I apply the Storyline layout, the background colour of the title changes to dark blue as expected but the font type, alignment and colour do not change. The title area also does not change in size or position

What can I do to automate the change of the title layout.

I am using standard Office Theme in PPT and in Storyline.

If I am understanding your question correctly, it appears that a similar question was posed over here, so please let us know if the suggestions offered will work for you or if that is not what you had in mind. :)
