I saw the error you've attached here and I'm thinking that it might be a computer specific issue. You can try following the steps I've listed below to try and fix the problem:
Go to the control panel on your computer and uninstall Storyline.
Reboot your computer.
Download and install Storyline (or the trial version since you still have 8 days left) and make sure it's the latest update.
Reboot your computer again and test Storyline.
You can also check this topic for any unexpected behavior in Articulate Storyline.
