Articulate Storyline and Firefox

Feb 04, 2013

Having uploaded some recent Storyline modules to the LMS, they are running fine on Chrome and IE.

However, navigation and content is completely broken. With HTML5 output ticked during the publishing process, animation is coarse or missing, the next buttons do not work, and is unusable. Using Flash only, the navigation and timeline is broken and prevents the course from progressing, and a lot of content is missing.

This has been tried on several machines, with caches cleared and latest versions of Firefox and Flash installed.

Please help. I have attached the .story file.

Hi Barnaby,

Thank you for the file. I've taken a look at this and I'm afraid I'm not seeing the same results in Firefox 18.0.1.

The course looks the same in Google Chrome and Firefox, for me. Are you able to take a look at this version, please? I've made no changes, I simply uploaded to Articulate Online.

If you see the issue with the content I linked, can you tell me what version of Firefox you're using?

Thanks!

Christine

Dear Christine,

Thank you for your efforts. I've checked it on Articulate Online as you suggested and it is still showing the erroneous behaviour with Firefox - the latest version (18.0.1). It works fine in Chrome but in Firefox the navigation does not work, content is missing, and the seekbar does not function or appear correctly.

Any ideas?

Update -

The issue appears to be a fallout with the latest version of Flash in Firefox - tested on Firefox on machines with Flash version 11.4.402.265 it works correctly. However, the latest Flash revision for Firefox - 11.5.502.146 - seems to break the module in the ways I have described. This Flash revision works correctly in Internet Explorer 8 however.

I suggest that the tech bods at Articulate confirm and investigate this urgently because Firefox is a very popular browser and as it stands we can't use Storyline to produce our modules with it being the way it is and we won't be the only ones with this issue......
