Audio dropping out in published content?

Dec 08, 2014

I'm taking over for a co-worker who left. I opened one of her existing projects, updated a few document links, and then published. The first 20 - 30 slides are fine. But then the audio drops out on all the rest. It plays the first 5 - 6 seconds, then nothing. The player bar still moves along, and when I check the slides in StoryLine 2, the audio is there and plays fine.

I asked a co-worker to view my published content, and he heard the same results. He opened my project file, and did nothing but republish. Now the audio is complete and works fine. I took the project file back, republished, and the same audio problem resurfaced. His version of StoryLine 2 is update 1:1410.204. Mine is 2:1411.2100. Is anyone else having issues with update 2:1411.2100? Or having the same issues with their version? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply, Emily.

Yes, I’m working locally. The project file was stored on a network drive, but I copied it down to my local drive, made the changes, and then published to my local drive. I placed the published content folder on the network so my coworker could test it, and also transferred my project file to him the same way. He copied both to his local drive, tested my file, and saw the same results. He then opened my project file, and republished to his local drive. Then he placed the published project to the network to transfer it to me. When I tested his, there were no audio problems.

I tried the repair option you sent. I ran the download as administrator, but it never gave me the option to reinstall. I could only uninstall, which I did. Then I ran it again as administrator, and reinstalled.

I opened my project file, republished, and the same audio problems were still there.

This is a very large project file, and the audio drops off on most off the slides. Did you want to see the the SL2 project file, or the published content?

Thanks for your help!
