Audio no longer playing after applying update 2

Feb 13, 2013

I applied Update 2 a couple of months ago and have had no issues with it until now.  I republished a course with audio playing only in the base layer on several slides, and now the audio does not play in the HTML5 version on an iPad 2.  Audio plays fine in the FLASH version.  The course is published in SCORM, and the audio is there when I look at the timeline for each page.

Any thoughts or anyone else experiencing this?

Good Afternoon, Joe.

It's probably relevant to note that Mobile Safari in iOS 5 can play only one audio or video resource at a time and cannot play audio or video on slides that advance automatically.

If you're already running iOS 6, or if neither of these scenarios apply to your course, I would encourage you to submit a Support Case and include a copy of your .story file so that we can take a closer look.  Thanks!

Hi Michael!

This thread is a bit dated, but I popped in and see that Joe did submit a support case and our support team was unable to reproduce the issue. I do not have any information past that in his instance.

Would you like to share your .story file so that we can have a look and see what may be going on? How are you publishing and sharing the content? Are your iPad users accessing the course via mobile browser or the Articulate Mobile Player?

Hi Leslie,

I ran into this in Storyline 2, However I rebuild the project in Storyline (1) and it works just fine.
I am not a code writer, but I know enough to spot check the HTML. I do not see in the Storyline 2 Published version that the code is calling up the audio. I think this is the problem. I did not look at the Storyline (1) html files, but it is working, so I assume that this must be the situation. I cannot really suggest anything else.

Hi Michael!

First of all, I wanted to let you know that responding to the forums via e-mail attaches your signature. You are welcome to pop in and edit that if needed.

Do you hear audio in my test file:

I'm not having any difficulty with audio in Mobile Safari on the iPad with the same software version you referenced. The example above was created in Storyline 2.
