Audio Playback Cutting Out

Mar 14, 2022

We are having playback issues on Storyline 3 projects published for student viewing on our server. The audio is fine on the internally saved file, but does cut out on this slide on the file saved to the server for customer viewing. Since the source file in Storyline is working, and the internally published module is working, it leads us to believe there is something happing to the file when the course content is uploaded to our server, which is causing some random audio file issues. This happens to only selected slides on several different projects. Is there something that we can do to avoid these issues?

Hello Darci!

I am happy to help! I understand that audio cuts out on multiple slides in a variety of projects when they're hosted on a server. What type of server are you using? Have you tried hosting content in another web environment?

Amazon S3 offers free hosting with generous usage limits. If you go over your limit, you'll be charged a small fee. See this video tutorial by Tom Kuhlmann to learn more about Amazon S3.

Also, Google Cloud also has a free hosting service. You'll be charged a small fee if you go over the free limit. See this video tutorial by Tom Kuhlmann to learn more about Google Cloud.

I'd recommend testing your course in another web environment to determine if it's the file or the hosting environment.

Thanks so much for the reply. We have tried to run these projects on multiple servers and web browsers, as has our IT department. The issues persist on select audio files, despite them working fine when run through Articulate previews and when previously housed on the Storyline platform for consumer viewing.
