Audio Problems When Playing Back on iPad (HTML5)
Sep 21, 2016
I have a module published for HTML5 output on mobile devices (specifically iPads) but the audio has serious playback issues. When you navigate to a slide containing an MP4 movie w/audio, and then navigate away to another slide that contains a WAV audio file, the audio plays garbled, robotic, and very slowly until it cuts out completely. If you then navigate to any other slide with an audio track, the audio no longer plays at all on any slide with audio. I have unsuccessfully tried several solutions: Specifically, making sure that my audio is WAV at 16-bit, 44 kHz, PCM-encoded. My client requires that HTML5 and NOT the Articulate Mobile Player be used by their customers. I would very much appreciate if anyone could offer some advice on how to fix this problem.

MP3 is a streaming file format so it supports progressive download and playback. The WAV format isn't; the entire file is needed before playback. I'd suggest flipping things and standardize your project on MP3
Hi Curt!
Hi Leslie. I developed the Storyline module on a PC running system 7 and Articulate Storyline 2, update 10:1607.1221. The iPad on which I am doing the testing is running version 9.2.1 (13D15) Would you still recommend this update?
Brian, this is an interesting idea and one that I will test. Thanks for your suggestion.
Sounds like you are all up to date Curt. Would you be able to share your .story file here for us to take a look?
Thanks, Leslie. I have submitted this as a support case.
Thanks Curt! I see where you reached out to our team (00893381) and I will follow along as well.
Hi Curt!
I popped in to check on your case and it looks like Cleo reached out to you on 9/21. Hope you got that response. It comes from support@articulate.com so be sure to check your spam/junk folder if you do not see it.
Thanks, Leslie. I did get a terrific response back from Cleo. The corrected action largely fixed the issue; not 100% but good enough, at least for now. Thanks for you and Cleo for your help!
Oh, glad to hear it Curt. Thanks for the update :)
