When I try to generate a web url for my html extension from story in AWS I get a not secure message if I try to generate it as HTTP and a blank screen if I try to generate HTTPs. I can't figure out where I am missing something. I have watched a ton of tutuorials. I have set my privacy settings to public on the file. I am at a loss. I would love to add this to my portfolio for an interview this week if at all possible.

Have you tried using the story.html instead of index.html? That should do the trick!
