Base layer Drag and Drop items not staying in position between layers
Apr 13, 2015
Hi everyone
Just working on my first storyline 2 project and having a bit of trouble with a drag and drop exercise that i think should be fairly simple.
So i've an image of a folder that I want users to drag potentially 4 items into. 2 items are correct, two are wrong. Whenever an item is dragged over it, i want to present some feedback, which i have done through different layers for each object. If the item dragged over is incorrect, then i want to move it back to its starting position.
The issue i have is after the incorrect item has been moved back to its starting position, the next time another item is moved onto the folder, the previous incorrect item is once again in the folder, even though it had been moved back to its starting position.
You can try it here, http://s3.amazonaws.com/tempshare-stage.storyline.articulate.com/stp19io89b6s18te2cpq9krns1d9o4/story.html.
I've attached the storyline file too, just with the troublesome slide.
I can't quite work out the logic of why the item doesn't just remain where it has been moved to. Am i appraaching this the wrong way? Any suggestions. Thanks for your help!

hmm, I seem to have got it working the way I would like by changing a couple of drag and drop options:
Can't say I understand the logic, but it works! Would appreciate if anyone could explain it's behaviour to me. I've attached the updated story file too.
Hi Long,
If you've enabled triggers to move the elements back that will override the normal drag and drop elements and therefore can cause some odd behavior. Since you've unchecked those and it behaves normally - I'd stick with that set up.
