Bring buttons to front

Nov 09, 2021

I am evaluating Articulate 360 desktop for use in a project, my goal is to evaluate the accessibility. But I'm stuck at the beginning, I can't bring my buttons in front of the footer, even though I have selected "Bring to front" on both my next and previous button.

I tried to use layers thinking they work like they do in Photoshop, but they seem to have a different purpose than "what should be above other things"

Any tips on how this can be solved? We sat three people for a few hours trying to bring these buttons to the front, but no matter what we did they remained behind the footer.

The buttons are in my master layer because I figure every page should have the next and previus button. I'd also like to add a menu button to the header

Hello Tst test, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

I'd like to understand a bit more about how you've designed your course.

  • Are these buttons that you've created vs. using the player?
  • What accessibility requirement are you trying to meet by adjusting these buttons?

The attachment above gives me an error, but I'd be happy to take a look at your .story file. Please attach it to your reply so that we can take a look.

Ops I'll need to fix my name.
These are buttons I crated by going into master slide -> Insert -> Button

These buttons are not what I'm evaluating, more the system as a whole. The z-index of the buttons are just the start, when I have some content I'll test with a screen reader.

Not sure why the attachment didn't work, tried saving it again and uploading. It's just pretty basic buttons that I am unable to bring in front of the footer.

In master slide view they are in front of my footer which is blue, in editing view and on scorm cloud they are behind.

Hello Anders!

Anything located on the Slide Master will always appear behind the other items on the slide. If you're going to have the rectangle shape at the bottom on some slides, I'd recommend adding a layout that includes the shape and custom navigation buttons.

Here's a quick tutorial in case you prefer to see these steps in action!
