Browser (Chrome) issues with SCORM 1.2 eLearning created in Storyline 2
May 19, 2015
Hello,
I am looking for assistance with an issue I'm having with content loaded to an LMS. Let me also disclose that I am very much a novice at eLearning (many of the eLearning duties have fallen to me, so I'm muddling my way through a lot of this!). Very well could be something I'm doing wrong.
We use Meridian Global LMS and have been creating eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline 2. Mainly simple projects such as quizzes, page-turners, etc. We're finding that people who are using Chrome sometimes have issues when attempting to open the course. When attempting to launch a course, their screen turns 'gray' and the course won't load (spinning circle kind of thing). It's been mainly with Chrome although not everyone who uses Chrome has an issue. For example, I am on Chrome v42 and it works fine for me, but others using Chrome 39 and 41 have found issues. It seems to work with EI and Firefox. The settings I'm using for publishing are correct, according to the eLearning designer who recently left our organization, so I do not see any issues with the publishing settings. Nor do I see any settings that say "work with this browser, but not with that one" (frustrating!).
We've been in contact with the vendor, who has tested and have received the same results with Chrome (not working), but it works for them in IE and Firefox. They continue to tell us that the issue lies in the courseware, and ask us to check there. But I do not have any idea what else to check.
Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

Hi, Jim - Would you be able to provide your file so we can test it for you? Also, have you tested it in the SCORM Cloud, as it is the industry standard? In addition, you may find this information useful on Troubleshooting LMS Issues.
Hi Christie,
Sorry for my delayed response. I appreciate you taking the time to provide input!
In troubleshooting further, I'm getting more and more convinced that the issue resides with the LMS vendor and their system functioning with Chrome specifically. Our content works fine in browsers other than Chrome, and I just found other functions in the LMS that are not eLearning content/authoring related. I've spoken to them and they are still investigating. They have a known issue with their LMS and Chrome, and the issue (the gray screen/spinning circle) is exactly the same as the one I described above.
Thanks!
Regards,
Jim
Hi, Jim - I appreciate the update, and I hope your issue is resolved promptly! :)
Hi Christie,
I finally got the LMS vendor to admit that Chrome doesn't work with our version of their LMS. It was not a courseware issue.
Again, I appreciate you taking the time to provide support!
Jim
