Building a prototype - Question about text-to-speech

Dec 03, 2017

I am creating a prototype for a presentation this week.  I am using some quiz questions within the module and personalizing the feedback. All my slides are using narration - most text-to-speech.

What I cannot figure out how to do is get the text-to-speech to work with the feedback. I need to have hints on the slide with incorrect answers - is it possible to narrate the feedback which is important when there is incorrect feedback.

Also do screen readers, pick up the feedback text? Are there articles on how the new updates work with screen readers - The module needs to be 508 compliant.

Hi Nancy,

If you need to create text to speech for your feedback, have you tried doing so on the individual feedback layers? That would allow you to use what is on the screen as an audio option. Take a look at the tutorial here on how to work with Text to speech.

Screen readers should pick up the on-screen text as long as you've made the objects visible to accessibility tools.
