Bullets on "Two Content" slide

My PowerPoint slides correctly show the bullets from the master slide (which aren't the standard small, round bullets).  When I publish, most of my slides are working perfectly fine.  But where I have bulleted text on the right side of a two content slide, it shows small round bullets instead of the correct bullets.  I tried a different shape -- still have the same problem.  This problem doesn't affect slides that use the Title and Content slide layout.  It doesn't affect slides that use the two content when I have bulleted text on the left side.
