Buttons on Base Layer not working on Slide Layer after installing latest update

Jul 16, 2018

I’ve encountered the following challenge after installing the most recent Storyline update:

I’ve been working on a project that is a multiple-choice quiz with the questions based on viewing different scenarios. The question for each scenario contains three possible answer buttons that reside on the Base Layer. The states of these buttons are set to hidden when the project timeline begins.

Users view the scenario by clicking navigation arrows which show Slide Layers that contain the different character poses with captions. The last slide layer of the scenario contains a Continue button that when clicked causes the three answer button states to change to normal.

The situation is the button states differ based on how I format the Slide Master Background picture:

·         When the transparency of the picture is set to 0% the buttons do not show.

·         When the transparency of the picture is set to 50% the buttons are semi-transparent and cannot be selected (and thus navigation cannot occur).

·         When the Slide Master Background picture is deleted, the buttons appear and can be selected.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks Bill,

It looks like you are running into an issue we have reported to our team.

I'll get this thread added so that we can continue tracking user impact and we can also update you here.

A workaround in the meantime would be to turn the shuffle off on your question slides.

Your updated file is attached.
