Can't Close a Zoom Picture

Oct 19, 2017

Hi, I have a Zoom picture on the Base Layer. On a slide layer (Close Zoom), I have an "X" in a shape that I want the user to be able to click on it to close the zoomed picture. On the base layer, I have a Trigger to show layer with the "X" when user clicks on the Zoom picture; and on the Slide layer, I have a Trigger that says hide this layer (Close Zoom) when user clicks on "X."

When previewing, the image shows fine with magnifying glass and when user click on it, it zooms/enlarges, but the "X" layer does not show so I can't close the enlarged/zoomed picture. Can this be done easily? If yes, what have I overlooked?

I realize that the user can just 'click' on the enlarged picture to have it go back to original size but I thought it would be good to add the "X" to close in case the user doesn't know this and it can be added easily.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Denise!

The zoom picture function will display the enlarged image on top of everything on the slide, including slide layers.

If you want to include a close button, you could design your own zoom picture function using layers. Here's how:

  • Insert the smaller image on the base layer.
  • Create a new slide layer, and insert the larger "zoomed-in" image on the slide layer.
  • Add a close button on the slide layer.
  • Create a trigger on the base layer to "Show layer [image layer] when the user clicks on the image."

I hope that helps spark some ideas! 💡
