I inserted one of the sequence drop-down slides into my project. However, I am not able to turn shuffle answers to None. The box is greyed out. I'm looked at it in both slide view and form view, but it is always greyed out. I've had this problem with multiple projects and drop-down slides, so I know this isn't an isolated case.
Even with it automatically shuffling, is there any way so that the shuffled options stay in the same order for each sequence drop down? It makes sense that it shuffles the correct order when the slide loads but that the order is different for every drop down on the slide seems like a bit of overkill. I've had a lot of students complaining that they find it confusing.
Matching and Sequence Drop-Down answers still automatically shuffle. Could you try a freeform question type where you build a similar looking interaction?

I have the opposite problem - I want the answers to shuffle for a sequence drag drop, but it won't. Even though it is set to shuffle automatically and the option to change it is greyed out. My sequence drag/drop always display in the correct order - not much of an assessment! eek!

I've also just had a client's pilot group complain about this as being confusing. Has there been a solution to this?

Happy to help clarify! The sequence drag-and-drop question should automatically shuffle once you preview or publish the course.
You won't see the shuffle while editing, but once you preview, it should look something like this:
If that's not what you're seeing, try inserting a new slide to see if it will work, or share your file with us to help troubleshoot!
