I've been given a company template, and wanted to convert those slides to Master slides for use in other projects, and updating old projects to the new format. The "master slide" for the existing template are generic slides that do not contain our branding. My company does not use Team Slides.
What is the easiest way to convert? Or will I have to create a new master and recreate each slide?
Insert a new Slide Master with the appropriate branding.
Insert new layouts that correspond to the layouts used in the unbranded slides. In other words, these should have the same type of placeholders (e.g., a Slide Title text box, a Slide Text text box, etc.).
Return to Slide View, and apply the new layouts to the slides.
You may have to do some tweaking on slides that include extra objects, such as shapes or pictures that were inserted directly onto a slide.
Go back to the Slide Masters, and delete the old master and its layouts.
At this point, you could use that file as the "set up" for future projects and/or you could import the slides as needed into other projects.
