Change states of objects

Jan 10, 2019

I have a course with an exam at the end.  If I allow the user to REVIEW the course (the button takes the user back a specific point in the presentation), is there a way that I can change all of the states on the buttons (on the specific point in the presentation) back to their default state?

Hi Wade,

Are these quiz questions you're looking to reset the buttons on, or other items on the slide you'd want your users to revisit?

If you are focused on quiz slides, you could use the "Retry" button from a Results slide. That would reset everything so that a learner could go back and retake the course.

If it's other individual buttons the learner may need to click on, you could reset them by adding a variable to track and a trigger to each button to set the state to X when the associated variable is equal to Y.

Knowing a bit more about your course set up will help us offer more tips and troubleshooting ideas!

Ashley,

Thank you for your response. It's not on the quiz itself. When the
employee finishes the quiz, and fails, he/she has the opportunity to return
to the training section of the Storyline presentation. But, when the
employee returns, all of the original buttons look as if they have been
reviewed already (I have a trigger that changes them from green to blue
when reviewed - disabled to visited). What I want to do is to reset those
buttons to disabled, and force the employee to review all of the
information again.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you,

wade.
