"Change Video" - Why No FLV?

Jul 11, 2012

Hi all,

I'm loving working in Storyline and seeing how the developers have anticipated so many issues that come up in development.

That said, I don't know if it's a bug, feature request, or what, but I noticed that in the Video Editor, when you click "Change Video", the dialog that comes up does not accept .flv as a filetype.

That doesn't make sense to me, as you can insert an .flv video from the main program.

Is this the intended behavior, or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Carlos

Thanks for the reply (and the welcome!), Peter.

Edit Video does come up for my .flv video, but...

I get the File Open dialog, and...

My use case is, I have a lot of FLV videos to show. I'd like to create the first slide with the first video, set its alignment, stacking order, etc., and then just duplicate the slide, using the Movie Tools > Edit Video > Change Video feature. I could do so if my videos were any of the formats in the screenshot above, but not if they're FLV.

I can, of course, go into each slide and delete/re-insert/set properties, and that's what I ended up doing, but I'd rather have used this feature.

So the question is, why no FLV?

Thanks,

Carlos

Hello,

Was their a resolution to this?

I have the exact same issue.  I can edit my FLV videos as well.  But I am not able to use the change video function.   I am reusing a slide with multiple triggers attached to the video and would like to use the change video function so that I do not need to create the triggers again for each slide.

Thanks...
