Changing character states while on a different layer
Aug 01, 2016
Hi
I'm building my first elearning course. It has a drag and drop function with immediate feedback.
It has a drag and drop activity and I'd like the character to change to a happy state when the 'correct' layer is showing. I'd like her to be unhappy while the 'incorrect' layer is showing.
I tried adding the character to the layer but she appears to have many arms as both the base state and the layer are visible.
does anyone know if I can change her state only while the layer is showing? or perhaps make the base layer character disappear while the layers are showing.
I'm also having trouble getting the items to bounce back if they're dropped incorrectly, despite having ticked the bounce back option in the settings.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi, Sonia -- Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community! I will defer to your fellow community members to share their expertise on setting up your course, but I thought I might mention in case you were unaware that we have a design-related forum here where you'd be welcome to reach out, as well.
You could use a variable, set a trigger on the object to change state when variable changes, then change the variable on the other layer
Hi Sonia!
Thanks for sharing your file and allowing me to take a look.
It looks like you have the layers set to still show the base layer, but you have added an additional character on the layer in addition to changing the character state on the base layer.
The quickest fix is to remove the character on the base layer from displaying on the Correct/Incorrect Layer:
Check out your updated file.
Thanks everyone. Problem fixed :)
Glad to hear it Sonia! Thanks for popping back in with an update :)
