Changing picture in 0,01 sec
Oct 22, 2016
I work on a project and i need your help^^
Its a "micro-expression" training tool. I ll explain :
One face is dispay(we call it A), and it change when the emotion is show (call B) and then it go back to the first(A).
In short : A then B for a brief time then A again.
I can do all, but i bug on the timing. I can make it 0,05 seconde and it workt but as soon as i get low as 0.04 s, it begin to bug and don't work all the time. When i go to 0.01, 0.02, 0.03 it doesn't work at all.
The purpose of this soft is to train ourself to see "micro-expression" and i need it to work on 0,01 sec to be really hard.
Can someone have an idea ?
Thanks a lot.
Chris
PS: By the way, i m new here, so hello everybody
PS2: I m not an english native so sorry for mistakes ^^

How do you set your timing to 0.05 secs (or lower)?
Hi Michael
you can type in the timings but given the timeline start and the split second for change that is why you don't see it make the change. I can get it to change and display at 0.02 seconds but not to change back and forth within those few milliseconds.
Hi Wendy, that's what I figured. You may be able to type in these values but based on Storyline's framerate (as far as I know it's 30 frames/sec.) you'd never see that change because to display at least two frames you need 0.06 sec.
Hi and thanks for the answer :)
So it's because of the framerate of storyline ? Is there a way to bypass that ?
To be more précise, i began the firest change at 2 sec and the second at 2.01 sec...So the sequence already have time to load
thanks again
Chris
Here's a litle update :
I also tested with 0.06 sec and it's also bug (2 sec to 2.06 sec) and for the one who workt that's not fast enought
Due to the restriction of the framerate i creat video clips of the image sequence (it's time consuming but not choice)
If someone have another idea I ll take it because i m afraid that i have to put all in video and my project will then make a lot of wheight
Chris
Hi Chris,
I wanted to confirm what Michael mentioned in terms of the frame rate of Storyline - it's 30 fps. If you're inserted another Flash movie you'll want to take a look at the information here, and that's also where the general frame rate is documented.
Thanks for the answer. As i see, i don't have any choice that put video file instead of picture.
