Changing screen recording to try mode after test mode?

May 26, 2020

After I did a screen recording and adjusted all the slides and hotspots to the way I need them, the SME requested we switch from a test mode to a try mode. Is this possible or do I have to reinsert the recording and redo all my hotspot edits again?

Hi Jeni,

Thanks for reaching out! The main difference between try mode and test mode step-by-step slides is that the try mode is treated as an ungraded assessment and contains some built-in features such as the hint caption layer.

The test mode is treated as a graded assessment (quiz questions) and can be submitted to a results slide. This user guide below gives all the details:

Here's a couple of screenshots from the same slide. Be sure to review the trigger panel for the differences!

If you've already perfected your test mode, it is possible to duplicate it and treat it as a try mode, but you'll have to build the hint captions, as well as the screen recording triggers if you'd like to include them in.

Keep in mind you also won't need a results slide as this would just be a try attempt. I hope this helps!
