Changing State when clicked (S1)

I need assistance in understanding why I cannot change the state when the shape  is clicked to go to the applicable screen. I have viewed the tutorial, change the order of the triggers, but still cannot figure it out. I even tried a button versus a shape with text without success

Attached is the example I am trying to get to work. You click the tab at the top to go to another screen. When they return to the launch screen, the text box should change to indicate the tab has been visited.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
