Changing the background in Articulate Storyline

Aug 14, 2023

Hello!

Sometimes in Storyline the background of my modules goes dark and it is very hard to see the text that is on the slide. It seems as if it is in a dark mode. When you publish the slide is still dark. How do I change this? If you look at the image attached you can see that the background is grey when it is supposed to be white.

Hi LaShondra!

It sounds like the background color of your Storyline course is appearing darker than it should. I'd be happy to help with that!

Dark/Night Mode is not a feature available in Storyline yet, so this behavior is likely due to another factor. It looks like you meant to share a screenshot of the issue, but I wasn't seeing any attached to your post. You can try sharing it again by clicking on the 'Add Attachment' button below the dialog box when replying.

If you would like to share the entire .story file itself, feel free to attach it to this discussion or send it privately through a support case. I'd be happy to test the behavior on our end, and delete it from our system once troubleshooting is complete!

Hello LaShondra,

Based on your screenshot, there's a possibility that your layers are configured to display as Dialog Layers. Dialog layers dim everything else in the browser window. Here's how to change the setting back to the default:

If this doesn't work for you, would you be willing to share a copy of your Storyline 360 project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
