changing the feedback when there is a time limit quiz

Aug 14, 2012

Hi...

Is it possible to change the feedback the user gets when the time is over?

I tried to do it using the feedback master with no success.

Thanks alot!

Hello Maya - yep, you can customize the message by changing the Text Labels on your course's player. Here's how to do that; the items to change are items 93 and 94 in the list of labels.

You can also change the colors that are used for the pop-up. This tutorial shows how to adjust your player colors, and you can use page 2 of this job aid to find the items that pertain to the pop-up colors.

Hi

Thanks it was a very helpfull tip.

Actualy I want the user to close the browser after this feedback pops up so I dont want the feedback with the "ok" button.

How can I do that?

Right now the "ok" button takes the user to the results slide and after that, when I click it the feedback doent disappear and just stays there.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Maya, the expected behavior if the time limit is exceeded, is that when the learner clicks OK on the "time limit exceeded message," the message clears and the result slide appears. If you're seeing something different, I'd check to make sure you're running Update 1, which was released recently. You can check by clicking Help in Storyline and choose About Articulate Storyline. The latest version is 1.1.1208.1316. If your version is different, you can get the update here.

Also, right now there isn't really a way to add a trigger to the OK button on the "time limit exceeded button" to cause the browser to close. That would make a great feature request.

When I click the OK button, the message clears but the result slide doesn't appear. I'm using Update 3.

Can you help me?

Hi Ana,

Thanks for sharing your file here, and I was able to see the same issue. I tried with one of my own files, and was also able to replicate the issue. Would you be able to open a support case so that our team can look into it further with your file? There will be a space to reference this forum thread, so please include that and let them know that we've tested it and replicated it within the most recent version of Storyline. If you'd share the case number with me, I'll also follow along.

Hi Ashley,

So glad I found this thread - I'm working on a timed test using Storyline and have the same problem. I need the results slide to appear after the time is up and 'OK' is clicked and I couldn't work out what I was doing wrong (I'm a little inexperienced with Storyline creation). I've clicked 'checked for updates', but none are available. Unfortunately, I'm also working under a rather pressurizing time deadline to deliver this test, so I was wondering if you had any idea when the update fix will happen?
