I recently upgraded to Storyline 3. I noticed that, while I still have all of the characters I had with Storyline 2, I do not have all of the options for different poses (i.e. headshots, torso shots, etc.). I attached an example of what I see when I view an animated character.
Can you tell me if I am missing something? Are those no longer provided since the full shots are there?
So - does that mean they are not available for photographic characters in Storyline 3?

For the characters, you can still insert photographic characters into Storyline 3 and you should see all the characters shown when you choose insert. You can crop them still as illustrated characters. They don't have the option to insert just the headshot or torso, although if you had that set up in Storyline 2, that should still transfer over!
Storyline 3 comes with 40 classic-illustrated characters and one photographic character and we no longer sell individual character packs. If you purchased character packs or bundles in the past, those characters will also work with Storyline 3.
we had bonus Character Packs that we used to use with SL2 that have their own key. How do I activate those for SL3? I why would SL2 have more photographic characters than SL3
Storyline 2 had additional Character packs that you could purchase, or depending on when you bought Storyline 2 they were included as part of a promotion. You can still use those with Storyline 3, and if you need the install links or a reminder of your serial number again, please reach out to our team here!
I had the same issue. I just upgraded to a new laptop and when Articulate Storyline 3 was installed, there was only one photographic character. I think this may be a software issue. I was able to get around it by looking in the Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Articulate/Characters/Photographic on my old laptop and copied the files to my new laptop in the same file location. I hope this helps. @Ashley Terwillger - can you check to see if this is a common issue with a new software download? Thanks.
Thank you for sharing what worked for you! Storyline 3 comes with one photogenic character with the purchase of a license. If you've also purchased the Character Bundle, then you'll have to copy those files when installing a new copy of Storyline 3.
Please let me know if you have additional questions! I'm happy to help.
I have previously purchased a Character Bundle, and Ashley above says "If you purchased character packs or bundles in the past, those characters will also work with Storyline 3".
I have installed the Character Bundle, but I'm not sure how to get my Storyline 3 to access those characters.
I went ahead and opened a support case on your behalf, so we can help you locate and install your Character Bundle for Storyline 3. You should hear from our team soon via e-mail.

Hi Lea Ann,
The options for Headshot, Torso and Full were only for photographic characters in Storyline 2.
The illustrated characters have always shown the full set up, but you can crop them to just showcase the head or torso.
Hope that helps!
Thanks!

Hello Ashley
I have SL 3, but I'm getting only one photographic character. I see some users have many others. Is there a way to get more characters?
