My client wants a module I am creating for security to be used in two slightly different ways by their customers. The course has some initial must know material mandatory to all learners.
The remainder of the course is broken into 7 scenes navigated to and from by a menu slide. Initially A staff member who hasn't been through the course before will be required to complete all scenes . However a person doing the course as an annual refresher after redoing the mandatory slides will have the discretion to select topics that are of importance to them at the time of the refresher.
Is it possible to program this functionality into the LMS (We use Moodle Totara) or into the course and if so how???
I have included a course outline diagram to assist people to visual what I am talking about.
Hmmm, you could create a variable called something like New. You could create two hotspots (links). A questions asks "Are you a new employee?" If they click yes, set the variable to True. If New = True, they don't have the option to jump around. If New = False, they do. It'd take some playing around with, but conceptually I guess you could use that.
Sounds like a possibility, thanks for the thoughts James

It would probably be easier to create 2 packages. one for new users and then a separate package for the re-fresher course, Totara provides some functionality around re-fresher courses that you could leverage to make the different versions of the course available. Your clients Totara Partner should be able to help them with this.

Hi Fiona,
Just an FYI, when you reply via email your signature is included in the post. You can edit the post to remove that information if you'd like.
I thought I had,
thanks Ashley
