I have several layers in a slide. Each layer has a close button. When the close button is click the course goes back to the main slide. But the sound / voice on the main slide does not play (once it is complete the first time ). How would I get the voice to play again after clicking the close button? See attached file. Let the first slide play through click the button then click the close button to go back to the beginning. I want the voice to start playing from the beginning when I click the close button. Is this possible through variables and if yes how?
You could set up an additional trigger to perhaps put the audio in a loop if needed. Since you have the slide set to reset to initial state upon revisit, a simple trigger to jump to the slide when the media completes would work.
Not sure if others in the community may have some helpful suggestions as well.
Leslie I've tried to setup an additional trigger that jumps to the slide (from the slide layer) when the media completes but it ask me for an object. There is nothing in the object drop down. Thus, I can't make the trigger. Here are my steps -- Action: Jump to slide, Slide: select the slide, When: media completes, Object: unassigned. Any advice? What am I doing wrong? Please help.
Walt, you still around? Leslie? Unfortunately, I'm still not able to get this to work. I am getting two sounds on one layer. But my slide is not transitioning to the main slide and not playing the sound of the first slide. What am I doing wrong. Please advice. I've included a screenshot for further detail. I must be ditzy or daft in the head. Thanks for your patience.
If the picture is of a trigger on the layer, it looks good, but you also need the trigger to close the layer. That may be why you are hearing two audios.
It looks to me like you have two copies of the Health Care Fundamentals audio, one on the base layer, and one on the Health Center layer. When you click the close button, they both play.
I deleted the one on the Health Center layer, and pointed the trigger to play the one on the base layer, and it seems to work now.
But it doesn't always show me the base layer sound. It will show me the sound on the slide but not the base layer. That is strange. It like magic. it just appeared.
You are my Hero!!! It works!!! Thank you so much!!! Yippee!!!!! Its working on all layers!!! It is like magic and you are the magician! Thanks so very much!!! <big hug>

Thank you so much Leslie I will try it! I might need some more help on the specifics. But in the meantime I'll go off to work on it.
Thanks again.
Maree

I am trying to go from slide layer to main slide.
Audio 4 is on the Base layer, but triggers on the layer can access it.
Attach these triggers to an object on the layer
Thanks Walt!
Thanks Walt! Just got back from a short trip - just now accessing your reply!
Thanks much!

I have a trigger to the close layer. The close layer is to hide the layer.
Here is another picture of my triggers in the side bar
Walt you are awesome for helping me I really appreciate it!!! Thank you so much!!
I've even moved the trigger I.e. media file above the Close button Hide Layer this layer - and it still did not work.
Can you attach your .story file (or at least a .story file of this slide)?
Sure.
Maree,

How do I point the trigger to play on the base layer? That is the part that I'm not getting. Sorry to be so slow :(
Never mind I see it! For the first time I see the base layer sound in the list.
But it doesn't always show me the base layer sound. It will show me the sound on the slide but not the base layer. That is strange. It like magic. it just appeared.
Well I'll keep looking for it. Thank you so much Walt. You have been a big Help!!!
