Closed caption button for SL2

Nov 23, 2015

I've used the instructions for the cc button to show the closed caption text that is hidden in a separate layer.  I can't have this button on the master slide, as it gets hidden behind the slide's background images. And my challenge is that the user needs to click the cc button on every slide.

Is there a way to make this button/trigger to stay for the rest of the project instead? Or is there a way to have this button to be part of the player buttons?

Hi Maryam,

I'd also agree with Steven's suggestion so that your question doesn't get lost here in the forums. You may also want to look into this older thread where a number of users have discussed closed captioning. Additionally, there is an article written by one our staff in regards to a few ideas for adding closed captioning into your Storyline course.

Feature requests:

1 - Include a universal CC button among the other symbols available when creating a button via Controls. I have to use a PNG file and style it to behave like a button.

2 - Add a CC button option to Player controls and the ability to display captions on a section of the player rather than in the primary canvas. This will alleviate having to constantly reserve empty space in the main canvas for captions.
