I am trying to import the closed caption .srt file. They show up when I click to edit closed captions, but when I view the course and click the CC icon, they do not display. I am not sure if I have the correct information in the .srt file but can't seem to find help on what should go int it other than the text I want to display. Anyone have ideas of why they don't appear? I have been working on this for a couple of hours now and feel like I am wasting time.
Hi Karyn, you need to ensure there is a space between the arrow and the time codes.
Instead of this:
00:00:00.00-->00:00:05.83
You need to update to this:
00:00:00.00 --> 00:00:05.83
I also noticed in the file you provided, the dash character shows up as a <?> icon for me as the character is unrecognised. Ensure your CC file is saved to plain text so this doesn't happen to the end user. If you save the file with UTF-8 encoding, these problems will reveal themselves.

Thank you. I will try this. I did use notepad for the text, but I wasn't really sure about what I needed to enter and how to save the file.
