Hi all, I selected the classic player, and when I publish my course to html, I do not see the CC icon at the bottom. It is in my viewer, but not showing up once I publish. Any ideas?
I recorded audio in Audacity and imported it to each slide. I guess I assumed it maps it from the "Notes" as it does in captivate. Is that not the case?
Thank you so much. VERY helpful. Now what about videos? When I publish to video(mp4), I lose my custom playbar and it uses the Windows Media Player playbar. (without CC).
Yes, when you publish to Video you will loose the Storyline player and the video will be controlled by whatever media player you use to view it. You can however add a trigger to the first slide that sets the Player.DisplayCaptions variable to true. Then, once you published the vid, the CCs should be displayed as part of the video.
Sorry misread your post I think. If you are publishing to video then you lose the player. You can use something like youtube/Vimeo to host and do the CC there or bake them into the file in something like premiere although that is dependent on the media player supporting them.

Stupid question but do you have CC on your audio files, the CC icon only shows on slides where audio or video has a CC file attached.

No, that's not the case. You need to provide a captions file that goes along with the audio as described here, or add them manually.

You can host on Vimeo or add in a srt file for the video. You can add the storyline play at but it is a little basic

Or, you can do what Phil suggested :-)

Here is a quick example with CC being part of the Storyline-published video.
