I was reading this article and noticed the comment about collapsing menu items "Tip: By default, all levels will be expanded when learners launch your course. If you want a level to start in a collapsed state, click the small triangle next to the title in the menu editor."
This has never worked for me. Well it works initially, I set it up (Player > Menu > clicking on the triagles to collapse the menu to look like I want), then save and Okay (to exit the Player menu) when I go back into the player the menu just shows fully expanded again. What am I doing wrong?
How does it appear when you preview it or check the published output? I do believe our team is investigating an issue where it doesn't keep that property when you revisit the player set up, but once you modify it and then publish or preview it, you should see it appearing as expected.
It does seem that it was shared with our team, and left in an open state based on it only occurring when you reopen the menu - which I can see if you've had a lot of slides that you were collapsing could cause a fair amount of extra work.
I'll be sure to include this thread in the reported issue if you're running into it as I never heard back from Claire.
