The feedback layers are driving me crazy. As the "Master Feedback" screen shot shows, the master is in a blue. But as the "Applied Feedback" screen shot shows, the applied feedback layer is a different color.
I have restarted, even installed the most current update today, and rebooted. Nothing. And I don't see the Edit Theme group of controls on the control ribbon that is shown is some of the documentation.
Have resolved the issue with a rather laborious work-around of creating a new project, applying the color theme, then very carefully modifying the feedback masters to change only the color, size and position of the default components on each master. Then import the entire previously existing project.
Although I still see a different color for text background when going to Home > Apply Layout, it is at least the correct color when applied.
Frustrating, time wasting, and not at all as it should work.
I have cut it down to only a few slides that show the problem. Please look at both scenes, they show different problems of the master look not being carried to the finished layers.
Thanks for sharing your file. I thought a quick Peek may be the easiest way to deal what I'm seeing. Can you take a look and let me know where I'm missing the issue?
Scene 1 the feedback masters appeared to match the layers, and scene 2 didn't have any of the feedback master layers applied. Once I applied one, the right formatting of the box appeared but it did not remove your existing custom buttons from the slide.
I appreciate you taking time with this. On review of your recording, it seems we are seeing different things in the same example. Please take a look at the attached side-by-side comparisons and let me know why what is seen in the master does not carry over to the applied.
And as the examples used to begin this thread show (I went through many experiments trying to figure this out), the blue frame and white text in the master look nothing like the red text on brown background that is applied.
Thanks John. I can see from your images that it's certainly not working as expected and I see the difference in the fade that you explained as well. The same color scheme made my eyes skip right over that previously.
I've opened up a support case on your behalf so that one of our support engineers can take a closer look.
You should be hearing from someone via e-mail soon.
Hi, Jenny. Very sorry you're experiencing this issue!
I had a look at John's case where I see my teammate, Jose, logged: Colors do not match when a layout created in Feedback master is applied to a layer as a possible bug. Although I don't have an update to share yet, we promise to update this discussion with any new information. Here's an inside look at how we tackle bugs!
While our team continues to investigate this behavior, we're happy to look at your .story file to look into some custom approaches. If you're able to share the file, please use this private upload link. We'll let you know what we find and will delete the file after.
I came to this thread because I am having the same issue. I just ran an update. My feedback master shows a green color, but when i apply it to the slide, it shows up as a much different shade of blue. I need it to be green to indicate "correct". I have attached a slide example.
Doesn't look as if this will be corrected soon. Huge, time-consuming work around, but this is what can be done:
1. Create a new project
2. Delete the feedback master you don't want.
3. On the feedback master (not a layout based on the master) change ONLY the color of objects and text.
4. Duplicate the master, and again, change ONLY the color of objects and text.
5. Import slides from the old project.
You now have feedback masters that are correct for NEW slides, but oh no no, your existing slides will still probably have corrupted color, even when applying the new feedback masters. Their content needs to be copied and pasted into new slides.
We just released a fix for all of the slide master and content placeholder issues reported in this discussion. The formatting issues you were experiencing when opening existing projects have been corrected.
Please review the Version History for a summary of what was included in each of the Update 42 releases.
Unfortunately, I'm still having issues. I just did my update today. And now, while it shows the correct formatting on the home tab's apply layout button, when you click on the correct format nothing changes on the slide. It stays with the formatting of a big red box with a silver border. See picture attached.
What should I do? It sounds like you all think this should be fixed.
I'm sorry to hear you're still having issues! I've created a support case on your behalf and would like to have our team review your file and provide next steps if you're comfortable sharing it.
I am also experiencing this same issue in a project I created today. It's driving me mad and I'm on a very tight deadline (measured in days, not weeks) and I'm trying to create a template I can put into use very quickly.
We appreciate your patience while our team investigated this.
I am happy to share some great news! We fixed the issue you reported where: Colors are not properly applied when a layout created in Feedback master is used on a layer
I had this same problem, but I hadn't updated in a couple of months. So I just installed build 3.51.... and the feedback master is still not working for me. It's not carrying over my font colors or button colors. :( I'm new! This is the first time I've tried using feedback masters.
Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear you still see this issue!
From here, I'd recommend connecting with our support engineers to help troubleshoot. I've opened a case on your behalf, so stay tuned for an email from me with a next step—help is on the way!

Hi there, John. Don't go crazy yet! Let's see if we can help. When you are on your feedback layer, go to your Home tab and choose Apply Layout.
Do your feedback layouts look right in that window? Can you apply the right one to your slides?
Thanks for your offer of help Crystal,
Yes. As the "Master Feedback" screen shot I submitted shows, it does look correct.
Yes, I can apply it, but what gets applied has the wrong colors, as shown in the other screen shot I submitted, "Applied Feedbback."

Thanks Ren,
I look forward to using it.
Hi there - I'm experiencing the same issue now with the most recent update installed. Have there been any other mentions of this bug recurring again?
Hi Shawna, There are a couple of open issues that we're working on related to the recently released Text Style feature that could be the culprit here.
We're targeting a release that will address this issue for next Tuesday (08/04/20). We will update you here when the update is ready to install.
