Completion status vs Success status
Mar 10, 2017
Hi,
How can I prevent the Completion status in the LMS to jump to 'Complete' as soon as a course has been fully seen? The course has no quiz included. We have added Javascript on the last slide in order to return a score that is linked to a 'passed/failed' Success state. How do I set the course settings or Javascript code so that the LMS returns a Completion 'Incomplete' as long as the Success state is equal to 'failed'?
Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi Els,
Storyline will pass the completion status once the user reaches that point, whether it is the results slide or the number of slides viewed. If you're looking to have something more custom using Javascript I'll defer to the community for their experience and expertise here! In the meantime you could take a look at the best practices here.
FYI 2 things not Storyline dependent that you need to make sure of (though you probably already confirmed these :-) ).
1) Publish as SCORM 2004 (1.2 doesn't have this type)
2) The LMS you are using supports and displays/uses Success Status properly. Many do not display or use it properly or just ignore it)
