I think I found a solution to your problem. I created two True/False variables (pause and resume), and set up a series of triggers. After some tinkering, I found there were two important things: the order of the triggers, and that the Pause Timeline and Resume timeline triggers needed to be connected to a variable change, and not "When User Presses a Key." Using the space bar to pause and resume worked for me after setting this up.
I added references at the bottom of the screen to call the variables and see the changes happen in real time for testing purposes. You can delete those, but wanted you to be able to see them in action.
Here is a screenshot for the trigger order, and updated file. Hope that works for you.

Hey Luke, Youre a genius
Its really complicated to understand what these codes do,
I kind of get it but still complicated.
I was trying to do this task using only one variable, which i couldnt.
It could be much easier if we could order 2 actions in 1 trigger in Storyline:
Example:
When user press (Space) key, IF (Pause=True) then do (Resume=True) **AND** (Pause=False)
Thank you very much tho, it worked for me :)
Excellent! Glad that worked for you Arash.
Some If/Then/And style triggers would be pretty cool. Here is the feature request link if you'd like to submit that to the Articulate Staff.
Thanks so much for chiming in to assist here, Luke! So glad you're a part of this community!
No problem Alyssa! Happy to help.
I did ;)
Thank you Luke for this solution! found it just when I needed it and it worked for me!
