They do undergo a conversion process and sometimes the text can go awry. I have recently upgraded a clients 20 courses that were very text intensive and had very little remedial work to do.
As Phil mentioned they are converted, but there shouldn't be too much to change. There is an element here in regards to text wrapping that you'll want to be aware of.
