Is there any way to copy an object and have it paste multiple times? For instance, let's say I want 20 identical circles on my slide. I've created one circle, is there any automatic way to "copy and paste 19 times" or would I have to copy and paste 19 times by hand?
if you highlight the object and click the Ctrl key AND DRAG the item you can quickly add items that way. Just key your finger on the Ctrl key to make multiple copies.
Oops my bad I forgot that tidbit of important information sorry about that. Glad the video did the trick...good luck with your project. I've updated my post above.

Thanks Wendy! Using just the Ctrl button isn't working for me though - do you mean the Ctrl-V shortcut?
Hi Adrienne
here is a quick peek video - doesn't show me actually doing it but shows the effect.
I insert an oval, highlight the oval then click the Ctrl button and it creates a duplicate and I keep my finger on Ctrl and continue to duplicate.
hope that helps
Oh, I see! I didn't realize I needed to drag the object. Thank you for the video!

Other options
Select then CTRL-D (count to self 1)
hold CTRL press D (count 2), etc.
Select then CTRL-D (or Drag with CTRL)
CTRL-click on original to select both ovals then CTRL-D creates two new ones
Duplicate 4 to make 8, duplicate 8 to make 16, etc
If nothing else interferes, you can drag around to select all, then duplicate. goes pretty fast.
