I also find that many objects don't paste across properly either. Often I just get a transparent shape (the same size as the source image for example) but no image. This makes copy/paste incredibly unreliable and means having to insert images (and tweak properties) time and time again.

If I read this right: You want to copy an Object (e.g. image textbox or whatever to another .story file?
I have to open a second instance of Storyline (wait what seems like forever on my 5 year old 2 core computer).
copy the item then switch to the second instance of program then paste.
Would be nice to have one instance and tabs or some other way.
