I have never had a great printed certificate using the method similar to what you are trying to do.
Here is an alternate method that automatically downloads a PDF certificate in the student's download folder. The last slide titled "Game Over" contains 2 hidden layers that explain how it is done plus acknowledges the great work done by others that allowed me to develop this approach.
