This has been head scratching. We recently published our course with SCORM 2004 3rd Edition per our Cornerstone Learning Portal requirement. The issue is that the course mark complete even the user failed the quiz. We set the pass threshold to 80%. We don't have this issue with SCORM 1.2. Any suggestions are welcome.
I have used Passed/Failed, Complete/Failed. I have talked with the LMS support and they told me that Cornerstone suggested to use SCORM 2004 3rd Edition but did not mention anything about the Mark completion pairing.
It sounds like your LMS is taking a little bit to update the status? Have you reached out to the LMS admin to see if there is any way to figure out what's causing a delay?
Ah, okay! I'd agree with Ashley that it sounds like your LMS is taking a little bit to update the status. From here, I would reach out to your LMS support team. They'll best know how to troubleshoot LMS-specific issues.
Hi, Jay! Great questions. A couple of scenarios for the first question:
1. Let's say you set completion at viewing 5 slides and your quiz is on one of those slides, learners who leave the course before finishing 5 slides will see a Failed status in the LMS. Those who exit the course after viewing 5 slides or more will see a Completed status. You can achieve this by selecting the Completed/Failed reporting option and tracking completion based on the number of slides viewed.
2. If you need to mark learners as Complete when they finish a quiz (no matter if they pass or fail) andyou need to track the interaction data, you could set the quiz passing score to 0% and publish using the Completed/Incomplete reporting setting.
Now, let's tackle the second question. We've created a table that lists the best combinations of LMS standards and reporting options for recording completion statuses in an LMS. Check it out!

What settings are you using in Reporting and Tracking when you publish? There are four options --
Passed/Incomplete
Passed/Failed
Completed/Incomplete
Completed/Failed
It can take some experimentation (or a good LMS administrator) to figure out which setting your works best for you needs.

Tested couple times. Found out that it works with Passed/Incomplete, and Completed/Incomplete. Thank you for the tips.
Happy that Sharon was able to pop in and assist here! Thanks for coming back to give us an update, Benny.
Thanks Sharon and Benny!
Glad to see that this older thread was able to help you out as well Aaron.
Thanks for popping in to share.

Hi Anette! Let's get this sorted out. Can you help me with a few questions?
Thanks :)
I use version 2
Quiz result - 80 %
The course shows failed shortly "3 sec" eventhoug I completed.
After that everything shows correctly.

Hi
I have few questions around quiz reporting.
I would like to report Quiz - Complete, no matter user pass or fail. what option should I select?
Also what is the difference in Scorm 2004 - Edition 2, 3 and 4? does it matter what I choose for reporting this option?

Additionally, here's a handy resource on the different versions of SCORM: https://scorm.com/scorm-explained/busines
Hope that helps, and let us know if those scenarios would work for your goal!
Thank you
