Course publish for web not opening for some learners

Oct 31, 2014

I've published a course for the web and uploaded files to SharePoint for access.

The course loads and plays perfectly for most learners but there are a few where the course never loads. They get the spining circle and it spins and spins and spins. Everyone is runnig basically the same system. Windows 7 and IE8. Pop-ups and compatibility turned off. Anyone have any ideas what might be preventing the course from fully launching for this learners?

Hello Geralyn!

If you are using SharePoint LMS, you want to make sure you publish for LMS as described here. you also want to make sure that all the users are within the system requirements. Have you tested this in the SCORM Cloud, the industry standard for testing content, to see if you can reproduce the issue there?

You may also want to look at the article here about troubleshooting your LMS.

We are not using SharePoint LMS. I am linking by URL to the story.html page. It launches perfectlly for the majority of folks who've tested it. I just have a few that cannot fully load the course. They are not receiving any error messages. It just churns, never fully launching.

The courses do contain screen captures and step-by-step videos so the published file size is about 35MB. Not sure if that adds any clues for anyone or not.
