Courses not registering completion
Mar 03, 2020
Hi community,
I have a health and safety series built in Storyline 360 that has been up for months with hundreds of users through without issue. Over the last three weeks, at least two of the series of eight courses have mysteriously stopped working properly. Each has an exit course button on the final slide and is published to register a pass/fail based on the quiz result. I have tried resetting the button in my .story file and republishing but the result is the same. These were working fine before and I'm trying to figure out whether there is a browser conflict possibly (we are on Google Chrome) or whether something might have shifted after the recent update to the trigger wizard? Any ideas?
Thank you!

Do you allow users other ways of completing the courses, such as through a mobile device? Testing through all the allowed options might not be a bad idea, and it would help narrow down whether the issue is browser-specific. Also, have you considered a user agent switcher? Makes testing things in various web browsers easy to do, without having to switch browsers. Google makes an extension for Chrome, but please be sure to read through the documentation for some important information.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. Courses are done on our hardware and software so all are on the same version of Chrome. I'm checking in with our LMS provider as well but so far no luck finding the source of the problem.
Thanks for clarifying. Are you aware of any changes/updates made on the LMS side in the last few weeks? There have been a couple of Google Chrome updates pushed since then, but if the software in your environment is managed there's a good chance those updates haven't yet been pushed down to your users.
There was a maintenance update to the LMS over the weekend but the problem presented a few weeks before that. I have a ticket in with their support to ask whether other clients have seen similar issues since the last Chrome update or the last LMS update. Fingers crossed someone is able to assist. Some of the health and safety pieces are mandatory training. Just can't figure out why all the triggers seem to be set correctly but suddenly aren't talking to the LMS like they used to!
Still not sure of the root cause but I have found a solve. I had to delete and recreate the results slide and delete and recreate the exit course button. I've just tried on our own Chrome browser on Windows desktop and once for good measure on an Android tablet using Chrome and all reported back correctly to the LMS. Phew! Our health and safety program continues on. :)
Yay! Happy to hear that!
Awesome news, Sarah! Thanks for popping back in to share.
