Creating a Decision Flowchart Using Storyline Quiz - Not as Hard as You Might Think!

Oct 22, 2019

One of the biggest issues people face when trying to recreate a decision flowchart in Storyline, is creating all the triggers they require in order to make it work.

Wouldn't it be great if you could just sit back, relax and let Storyline do all the hard work for you? Well, that's exactly what you can do by making use of the built-in quiz question capability.

In the attachments, I have created a simple decision flowchart for fixing a broken lamp (see pdf) and then recreated the same flowchart using True/False questions in Storyline. In this example I have changed my True/False labels to Yes and No and have allocated one response as the Correct response to each question. In reality, there is no Correct response as either answer is possible. However, by using this technique it then enables you to use the Correct and Incorrect layers as necessary to provide additional feedback and branching options.

Hopefully this will provide some inspiration for anyone wanting to create an interactive flowchart.
